The "nowhere to go but up" point is definitely true in that there is massive potential for growth in Detroit, but that won't happen without intelligently directed effort.Alex Lloyd-Evanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00628592023683041203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2391450667636277312.post-29278038108861008672011-05-23T19:47:29.568-07:002011-05-23T19:47:29.568-07:00I agree with Mark too. I think that creating new tech jobs is important, but we're going to be in the same position again in the future if we don't branch out and invest in more than one industry.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2391450667636277312.post-30590750915977126242011-05-23T07:42:20.690-07:002011-05-23T07:42:20.690-07:00I’m not sure how I feel about this. A lot of these tech jobs are in the automotive industry. <br />I think that Harlow made a good point when she said, “so many jobs lost the only real place to go is up”. I don’t doubt technology is making an impact in Detroit, but I am not sure based on this article that this is going to bring Detroit back. I think this may be one of the many factors that go into recreating/reinventing Detroit.EThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01960065480704894445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2391450667636277312.post-58663470840637702662011-05-22T22:50:06.180-07:002011-05-22T22:50:06.180-07:00I agree with Mark. While tech jobs may play a bigger role to create more employment opportunities, diversification of industries is necessary to rebuild a city.Utsavhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13897620386923128353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2391450667636277312.post-22867188816654812202011-05-22T17:36:31.877-07:002011-05-22T17:36:31.877-07:00I hope this article proves true. The city cannot solely rely on the automotive industry because that is what put us into the situation that we are in today.Mark Ghafarihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02811053037820432745noreply@blogger.com
