Pictures anyone?

See here.  I want to learn how to use google maps to make pictures like this.  But they are so horrifying, I am not sure why.

  1. In regards to how to make these maps, I believe the initial map was provided by Google and someone when in and makes all the places foreclosures were at using some type of photo editor. The maps were very interest. I am very curious about why so many foreclosures have hit Florida. I assume it has something to do with the heavy population of retirees that see to move to Florida for retirement. If anyone has any insight, I would love to hear.

  2. According to this blog there should be a feature on Google Maps that allows you to see foreclosures: http://www.ritholtz.com/blog/2010/12/google-map-foreclosures/

I haven't looked into it yet but I figured I'd post it so you could play around with it. Let me know if it works! If not, I'll see what else I can find.

  4. I did a search at Google and then a more general one. They discontinued the feature last year. Not sure why.

  5. Cool!

Also, to answer why they discontinued it. Here it its. I don't think Google wants to be liable for posting info like that. If they continue to leave it posted, then people and perhaps other organizations might references to Google Maps; hence, Google can get into trouble.

  7. There are a lot of foreclosures in Florida, this seems to be the perfect time to invest in South Beach, where 1/14 properties in Miami is foreclosed.
