new school plan

I went to a meeting today about the new school plan. In the next years, there is a plan being set in motion to completely revamp and renovate k's campus. . Right now K is planning on changing their landscape. Adding parking and making K's campus more visible are just two things on the agenda. How might this change the realty market in kalamazoo?

    this is interesting to hear. i would like to see their plans on how the new layout will look because it seems to me that it would be very difficult to get anymore space our of what kalamazoo college already has. if things were more visible and open then i could see it bringing good things to the school and maybe even the reality markets surrounding it.

    I believe that it will open the communities eyes to our school! How many times do you tell a western student that you go to Kalamazoo College and they immediately assume you are talking about KVCC? I know a few students that go to K now that are from Kalamazoo originally, a couple of them did not hear about K until a recruiter stopped at their school, senior year.

    This is a great idea for a school like this. We need as much publicity as we can muster in order to bring in more students, which brings in more money to the community. Bringing in more students would potentially force a change on campus that juniors now must live off campus. The school could purchase housing from around the area and lease it as a college house instead of having the students among the lower income housing. Ben, if you check this again, how much time are they thinking this may take?

    This is a very good idea for the school. I agree with what Jake S. said about talking to people from different schools. I have talked with people who went to school in Portage and had no idea what Kalamazoo College was. The reality market could change because like what Adam said, if there are more students at school, more students would be off campus which would cause more rentals to be used and if K had more rentals, they could make more money from renters.
