Two U.S. Housing Trends

This ABC News article uses an example of a house in Detroit for sale versus one in Birmingham to show the two different housing markets that currently exist.

  1. Its astonishing in the price differences between Detroit and Birmingham. But you have to look at the area these houses are in. Birmingham is a much safer buy because of better public goods and the safety of the area. The crime rate in Detroit is overwhelming higher then in Birmingham as well.

  2. I thought it was very interesting how the housing market is moving in opposite directions instead of all together. The upper tier gets more expensive while the lower keeps decreasing. The rich get richer

  3. This 2012, people and other real estate pros really are expecting more housing trends as the year enters. The year 2011 was quite a good year despite of major changes and new worldwide pertaining to other small housing markets, as well as the US market. But 2012 should be a year of positivity for the market in recuperating on what is loss in the whole market. Guess 2012 can be a year for a lot of real estate school as well with a lot of individuals taking their chances on housing careers.
