Fastest Growing Cities in the South

Since our discussion has recently been focused on growth in cities, I though it would be interesting to take a look at the 8 fastest growing cities in the south. It is great to see these places moving toward mobility. Feel free to share you own opinion of the cities mentioned in the articles below and what you believe is the cause of their resent growth.

  2. I agree all of these cities are beautiful, they all have great weather in these cities, and they all have new industries popping up in their downtown areas. I hope these cities can sustain this growth but you never know.

  3. "Last year, Texas tied with California as the states home to the most Fortune 500 companies" I was surprised by this but that's great! A lot of these cities seem good at attracting businesses to their area, which as we know is a great way for a city to grow.

  4. Raleigh being the "Silicon Valley of the East" shocked me, I had no idea some of these southern cities were growing so constantly or efficiently. They also seem to be doing it by focusing on industry that will stay relevant for a long time (financial, biotech, even Austin's focus on sustaining small business) so this isn't just a momentary boom and crash.

  5. This article does help me understand where all of my friends that have graduated before me have gone. I had heard these names before but had no idea just how fast they were actually growing.

  7. That's pretty interesting. As long there are pollution clean up efforts and noise reduction, I'm good.

  8. Raleigh-Cary, NC and Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, TX are great places. To further what Mark said about the weather, warm weather attracts people to the south. The cities are all beautiful, especially in these photos. I think once a city finds its niche and showcases it then it makes a name for itself. Cities that get a lot of positive attention attract more residents and industries.

  11. really liked the line :That yard with space for a grill (Texas BBQ anyone?) is especially alluring if it's cheap. Seems like warm weather , great job opportunities and cheap housing help a city grow.
